Former Soldotna resident Lydia E. Palmer of Sweet Home, Ore., died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, Ore. She was 57.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Victory Faith Fellowship in Foster, Ore. Burial will follow at Lewis Cemetery.
Mrs. Palmer was born Sept. 17, 1951, to John and Frances (Land) Sliman in Salem, Ore. As a child she lived in the Alsea, Ore., coastal area. As a young adult she moved with her family to Kent, Ore. During that time she met her husband, Stanley Palmer, and they were married July 15, 1972, in Saint John, Wash. They then moved to Soldotna in her early 20s.
In 1986, the Palmers moved to the Sweet Home area with their four children, where they resided for the remainder of their lives.
Mrs. Palmer was a member of the Victory Faith Fellowship. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, canning and crocheting.
Mrs. Palmer was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Palmer; brother, Hassein Sliman; and father, John Sliman.
She is survived by her children, Stanton and Ethan Palmer, Autumn and Tony Lewis and Jardena and Ian Scofield; grandchildren, Elisha, Isaiah, Shaniqa, Jesse, Joe, Samara, Christopher, Austin, Adhessa, Caden, Kaylynn, and Desiree; siblings, Joe, Saul, Luke, Rebecca, Sheilah, Laura, Sarah, Paul and Randy; and mother, Frances Pauline Sliman.
Arrangements were made by Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
