Light earthquake strikes Cook Inlet region

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A light earthquake struck the Cook Inlet area Tuesday morning.

The quake struck at 3:23 a.m. and had a preliminary magnitude of 4.7, according to the Alaska Earthquake Information Center. It was centered 49 miles west of Ninilchik and was 83 miles deep.

There were no immediate reports of injury or damage.
