JUNEAU (AP) -- Gov. Tony Knowles has named a lawyer for the Alyeska Pipeline Service Co. to the Alaska Public Offices Commission.
Larry Wood, a former chief assistant attorney general, currently serves as Alyeska's assistant general counsel. He will hold one of two seats reserved on the commission for persons nominated by the Republican Party.
Wood fills a seat that was previously held by retired Superior Court Judge Mark Rowland.
''His lengthy legal experience will serve him well as he deals with the important matters that come before APOC,'' Knowles said.
APOC's next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 18-20.
