Deadline to return dipnet permits past

The deadline for returning the Upper Cook Inlet personal use salmon permits was Aug. 15.

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game reminds residents to return the harvest information of the Kenai and the Kasilof dipnet fishery as well as the Kasilof gillnet fishery as soon as possible.

Permits may be dropped off at department offices in Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna or Homer during regular business hours or mailed to Alaska Department of Fish and Game Sports Fish RTS, 333 Raspberry Rd., Anchorage, AK 99518-1599.

Permits must be returned even if no one used the permit or if no fish were caught. If the permit was not used permit holders should mark the "did not fish" box on the permit or if no fish were caught write the date and place of dipnetting and write in zeros for the harvest amount.

For lost permits send a letter to the above address with the following information, name, mailing address, fishing and drivers license numbers, names of household members, dates, place and number of each type of salmon caught.
