Sabbath celebrated today

Erev Shabbat, evening of the Sabbath, will be celebrated by MoAdim Messianic Fellowship at 6 p.m. today at the Kenai Merit Inn Petroleum Club.

The event will include dinner and will feature special guests from Indigenous Messengers International.

Fellowship to dedicate church

The New Life Christian Fellowship in Kasilof will formally dedicate its building at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Officials from the national Foursquare Gospel organization headquartered in Los Angeles also will be on hand to charter the church, which is at Mile 0.5 of Kalifornsky Beach Road.All are invited to the ceremony, and refreshments will follow.

Abuse prevention program slated

"Turning Violence Into Victory," an abuse prevention program, will be presented at 7 p.m. Aug. 29, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church on the Kenai Spur Highway in Kenai.

Brent Zolman will offer a Christian approach to altering relationships injured and broken by abuse.

Wellspring seminar planned

Nikiski Community Services invites all to a seminar on biblical foundations of freedom, presented by Art Mathias of Wellspring Ministries from Aug. 29 through Sept. 1.

The seminar sessions will be at 10:55 a.m. and 6 p.m. Aug. 29 and at 7 p.m. Aug. 30 through Sept. 1, at Lighthouse Community Church, Mile 25 of the Kenai Spur Highway.

Additionally, a daytime seminar titled, "How to Minister to Others," will be conducted Aug. 30 through Sept. 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 776-8234.

Fall Bible study schedule announced

The women's ministry of Kenai Christian Church has announced its 2004 Bible study classes for the fall. Already under way are Wednesday evening classes titled, "Lord, I want to know you," by Kay Arthur. Beginning Sept. 9 from 9 to 11:30 a.m., the group plans "Precept Upon Precept, I Corinthians, part 1;" "Fresh Start My new identity in Christ;" and "Believing God, Part 1" a Beth Moore study. Beginning Sept. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. will be, "Precept Upon Precept, I Corinthians, part 1;" "Believing God, Part 1" a Beth Moore study; and "First Place Seeking God's best." Beginning Sept. 11 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. will be "Believing God," a Beth Moore study.

Women's prayer group to meet

Clothes2Go open Wednesdays, Fridays

The Inlet Faith formerly Aurora Heights Assembly of God Clothes2Go is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays to meet people's clothing needs.
