At noon today, the Kenai Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a candidate forum at its weekly luncheon for the governor's race. In order to accommodate the expected crowd, the luncheon will be held at the Diamond Rose in the Alaska Lanes building, instead of Paradisos Restaurant. The event will be catered by Paradisos. The cost is $10.50.
Those candidates who have confirmed they will attend are Alaska Independent party candidates Nels Anderson Jr. and John Glotfelty, Republicans Frank Murkowski and Wayne Anthony Ross and Democrat Fran Ulmer.
This evening, several area groups will join together to sponsor the governor's race forum at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Association from 6 to 10 p.m.
The forum is sponsored by the Kenai Peninsula Resource Management Coalition, Kenai Peninsula Education Association, Kenai Peninsula Education Support Association, the Cook Inlet Fisherman's Fund, Kenai Peninsula Tourism Marketing Council, the Kenai Peninsula Land Use Group and the Kenai-Soldotna Fish and Game Advisory Committee.
Those who have confirmed attendance are Ulmer, Glotfelty, Ross, Anderson, and Billy Toien, a Libertarian.
