Dimond picks apart Skyview

The Dimond football team defeated Skyview 37-12 Friday in Anchorage in nonconference action.

The Panthers hung tough early before Dimond got on a roll. The Lynx grabbed a 7-0 lead, but Skyview’s Clark Buffington answered with an 89-yard touchdown run with 6:35 left in the first quarter. After that, however, Skyview would not score until Eddie Buffington had a 1-yard run as time expired in the fourth quarter.

Clark Buffington had 16 carries for 171 yards while Gregory Bosick added 16 carries for 73 yards.

Eielson 63, Seward 14

The two-time defending Great Land Conference champion Ravens rolled past the host Seahawks Saturday.

Nick Scales and Nick Rogers each had two touchdowns for Eielson. Travis Pugh had an interception return for a touchdown, while Cameron Horn blocked two punts for Eielson that set up scores.

The Seahawks did all of their scoring in the third quarter. Jake Wilder scored on a 7-yard run and Isaac Swiderski caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from Coty Beck.

Homer 58, Valdez 8

The Mariners picked up a nonconference victory over the Buccaneers Friday in Valdez. Homer led 40-8 after the first half en route to the victory.
