He thoroughly enjoyed meeting people and making new friends. He was genuine and sincere. Eric loved to fish in Alaska and was one of the best. He had many friends who were fishermen in Bristol Bay who admired the way he lived. He loved to learn and also teach. His mission was the high point of his life. He loved the African people," his family wrote. "Eric loved life and knew how to have fun. He will be missed by so many. Eric, you are love."
