Eric Robert Larson

Bountiful, Utah, resident Eric Robert Larson was found dead by his father and brother on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, following a tragic accident in Egegik. The exact time and circumstances of death are not known. He was 24.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Bountiful Heights Stake Center. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery.

Mr. Larson was born July 5, 1976, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Robert H. and Jacque Anderson Larson. He and his family lived in Nikiski and Kenai for 7 1/2 years. He attended Nikiski Elementary, Nikiski Senior High School and Kenai Central High School. In 1994, he graduated from Viewmont High School in Bountiful and served in the Kenya-Nariobi Mission for the Morman Church from 1995 to 1997. In 1999, he graduated from Ricks College in Rexburg and was a senior at Brigham Young University, majoring in accounting.

"Eric enjoyed wrestling. It taught him the value of hard work and perseverance. He looked at each experience in life as an opportunity to learn and improve himself. He thoroughly enjoyed meeting people and making new friends. He was genuine and sincere. Eric loved to fish in Alaska and was one of the best. He had many friends who were fishermen in Bristol Bay who admired the way he lived. He loved to learn and also teach. His mission was the high point of his life. He loved the African people," his family wrote. "Eric loved life and knew how to have fun. He will be missed by so many. Eric, you are love."

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Jacque Larson, of Bountiful; brothers Nathan Larson, of Bountiful, and Elder Brett Larson, serving in the Morman church's France-Paris Mission; sisters Kristin and Ashlee Larson, of Bountiful; grandparents S.J. and Ruth Larson, of Genola, Utah, and Willard and Virginia Anderson, of Stevensville, Mont.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Arrangements were made by Russon Brothers Mortuary in Bountiful.
