Help for home day care providers
The LeeShore Center (formerly the Women’s Resource and Crisis Center) is a sponsor in the USDA child- and adult-care food program that is administered by the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development.
The same meals will be made available to enrolled children in each of its sponsored child-care homes and it will be provided at no charge without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
The Child Care Assistance and Food Program will be closed today through Friday. It will reopen Aug. 29. For more information or to enroll, call Jennette at 283-4707.
CIRCAC to meet
The Cook Inlet Regional Citizens Advisory PROPS committee will meet at 11 a.m. today at the CIRCAC building at 910 Highland St. in Kenai.
It is open to the public.
CPGH board meeting slated
Central Peninsula General Hospital Inc. will hold its monthly board meeting at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the Iliamana conference room at the hospital.

First aid, CPR classes offered
The American Red Cross of Alaska will hold an adult, infant and child CPR, first aid and AED class Saturday at the Red Cross building in Kenai. For more information, call 283-4556.
Dinner, auction fund-raiser planned
There will be a Mexican dinner and auction fund-raiser at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Nikiski Senior Citizens Center. Proceeds will help Nicaraguan missionary Maria Pedro return home. Music, drama and stories of Nicaragua are some of the planned activities. The cost of admission is $7. Tickets are available at the door.

KPC seeks council reps
Kenai Peninsula College is seeking representatives to serve on the College Council. The council serves in a public advisory role for the college. LeeShore radiothon fund-raiser slated
The 21st annual KRSM-LeeShore Radiothon fund-raiser will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 12 on KSRM Radio 92 AM. Cash and in-kind donations pledged during the radiothon support the agency’s services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and its community and school prevention programs.

Swim team tryouts set
Soldotna High school is starting its swimming season. Tryouts are held weekdays from 3 to 5 p.m. Participants do not need to be experienced swimmers or divers to join. For more information, call 262-7419.
