The Soldotna volleyball team defeated Seward 25-19, 25-10 and 25-12 on Monday in nonconference action at Soldotna.

“It was a team effort,” Soldotna coach Pako Whannell said. “Every single person played well. All 10 of the girls were consistent.”

Paige Blackburn had 12 kills for the Stars, while Christa Kennedy added nine kills and Dani Donaldson had four kills. Blackburn had two kill blocks while Kennedy had one kill block.

Donaldson, Kennedy and Sara Heminger all had four aces. Heminger and Rohloff had three or four saves each from their setter positions.

Whannell also said Lauren Senette did a great job in the back row serving and setting up SoHi’s aggressive attack.
