Garage sale fundraiser begins

Soldotna United Methodist Women's annual garage sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today (no early birds) and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church on Binkley Street, behind Safeway. For more than two decades the proceeds of the sale have gone to support mission in the community, state and around the world. For more information, call Susie at 283-7469 or 252-9059.

Unity feast planned

The Baha'is of Soldotna and Ridgeway will host a unity feast at 7 p.m. today at the Bahai Center on Knight Drive in Soldotna.

The feast is a time for people to come gather from all religions anddifferentbackgrounds. In a spirit of friendship, understanding anddevotion, to explore spirituality from the world's major religions. The goal is to focus on those things people have in common, so that humans may do their part to help bringharmonyto humanity.

Revival set for Sunday

The Sterling Baptist Church will hold a revival for a spiritual renewal, a re-awakening of faith and a period of renewed religious interest during Sunday services and at 7 p.m. Monday through Aug. 29 at the church at Mile 83.4 of the Sterling Highway.

Women's Bible study will begin

Kenai Christian Church will begin its women's Bible studies in the morning and evening Thursdays and in the morning Saturdays beginning this week.

Sign up for the studies and child care will be Sunday. Child care is available for preregistered children (preschool age and younger) for Thursdays only. For more information, call the church office at 283-4559 Mondays through Fridays 9 a.m. to noon.

Woman's ministry opportunities avaiable

The Peninsula Take a Break group invites women seeking ministry opportunities to a volunteer orientation is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Peninsula Grace Brethren Church at 44175 Kalifornsky Beach Road in the gym.

Kids activities offered

First Baptist Church of Nikiski on the corner of Kenai Spur Highway and Island Lake Road offers a Kids Club from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays. Children in grades one through six may attend. Echo Lake Bible study ongoing

Nikiski Aglow meeting set

Nikiski Aglow meets at 10 a.m. Wednesdays at North Star United Methodist Church at Mile 25.5 of the Kenai Spur Highway. Women may attend Bible study, prayer and worship. For more information, call 776-8022.

Clothes Quarters open

The Clothes Quarters is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays at 225 S. Spruce St. behind Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Kenai. The store sells clothes and free trade coffee.

Nikiski Nazarene Ladies offers the Beth Moore Bible study, Living Beyond Yourself, from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays. Women and teen girls may attend. For more information, call 776-8022 or 776-5421.

Grief support group to meet

Soldotna United Methodist Church conducts a life, love and loss support group from noon to 1 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of the month at the church at 158 S. Binkley St. Any type of loss is open for discussion in the group.
