LeeShore Center to host open house

The LeeShore Center will host an open house and barbecue Sept. 10 from noon to 4 p.m. to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The public is welcome to attend.

Bereavement support group planned

Hospice of the Central Peninsula is hosting a 9 week, free of charge, bereavement support group-for those with any kind of loss. The group will meet on Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. beginning Sept. 15.

Home-school science program offered

Challenger Learning Center of Alaska is enrolling for its S.T.E.A.M. Ahead II homeschool program. The new programming for students in grades kindergarten through eighth-grade is developed to help parents teach science to their children and is aligned with State Standards and Grade Level Expectations. The first session begins Sept. 7.

Senior center fundraiser slated

Soldotna Senior Center's fall round-up fundraiser will be held Sept. 11 at 5:30 p.m. Prime rib dinner and all the trimmings, live bluegrass/western music of Spur Highway Spankers, door prizes, a grand door prize, and silent and outcry auctions are planned.

Tickets are $22 for adults and $12 for children 12 years old and younger.

Rotary hosts craft fundraiser

The Soldotna Rotary will host a pre-holiday craft and gift extravaganza from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 17 and and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 18. For more information or to rent a space, call Luanne at 394-3444.
