Meetings focus on communication between schools

Two meetings have been set for the beginning of school to help with communication between the representative groups from each school. They are meant to help engage parents and other volunteers and to increase the likelihood of a high-quality education for all students.

The PTA/PTO/PTSA meeting is Monday in the Soldotna Elementary School staff development room from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The meeting will be for parent group presidents.

The Site-Based Council meeting is Tuesday in the Soldotna Elementary School staff development room from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Chance to improve speaking and leadership skills

For people interested in improving public speaking and leadership skills, a meeting will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Soldotna Middle School library. No commitment is necessary. Women's Resource and Crisis Center board to meet

The board of directors of the Women's Resource and Crisis Center will hold its monthly meeting Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. For information and location, call Laurie at 283-9479.

Monthly caregiver meeting to be held

The Tyotkas Elder Center meeting will be held by Family Caregivers Outreach and Support Program at noon Wednesday at the Tyotkas Elder Center at Fort Kenay, 1104 Mission Ave. in Kenai.

Sled Dog Race Association meeting to be held

The Tustumena 200 Sled Dog Race Association will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Tustumena Lodge in Kasilof. All members are urged to attend because preparations are starting the 2003 race. Future members are welcome.

CIRCAC committee meeting to be held

The Cook Inlet Regional Citizens Advisory Council's Environmental Monitoring Committee's next meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday in Kenai. The public is welcome to attend. For an agenda, directions or more information call 283-7222 or 1-800-652-7222.
