KCHS cheerleading tryouts today

Kenai Central High School will hold a meeting for those interested in joining the cheerleading squad. The meeting will be held today during lunch period. For more information, call 283-7524.

Play auditions set

The Kenai Performers will hold auditions for its “Sudden Theater,” a series of 10-minute plays, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the playhouse. Older teens and adults may audition.

Fraternity to celebrate anniversary

The Beta Sigma Phi of the Central Peninsula will celebrate the 75th anniversary of its organization from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Etta Mae Near’s home at 37305 Lancashire Lane in Soldotna. The reunion is open to past and present members. For more information, call 260-6401.

Ninilchik Native parents to meet

The Ninilchik Traditional Council’s Tribal Services Department will hold a meeting for Native-American Indian parents of children ages 0-13 in the Ninilchik area at 7 p.m. Aug. 30 at the NTC Subsistence Building, up the hill across from the school. The NTC Early Education Program and this year’s plans for tutoring, JOM funding and preschool swimming will be reviewed, and input and concerns will be taken.
