Kenai visitors center gets grant

The Alaska State Museum has announced distribution of $86,000 in Grant-in-Aid to 12 museums across Alaska. The funds will be used to upgrade collection storage, improve museum access and management and address other museum issues.

The Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center received $6,036 for upgrade and conversion of a collection management database.

Each year, museums assistance grants are awarded on an open, competitive basis to supplement and improve museum services throughout the state. The Alaska State Museum received 24 applicants this year from organizations seeking a total of more than $205,000.
