Luncheon testimonies planned

God's First FEAR (Face Everything and Recover) luncheon will occur Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at the Peninsula Steakhouse in Soldotna. Speakers and testimonials will be featured. Meetings will continue Monday through Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. For more information, call Ruthie Bedwell at 260-8044.

Horses, religion mix

A free horseman's demonstration-workshop titled "Sermon on the Mount" will be presented Sunday at the Soldotna Rodeo Arena at 6 p.m. Lew Sterrett, executive director of Miracle Mountain Ranch in Pennsylvania, will use horses to illustrate basic principles of living and character building.

He will combine the animal field and the ministry to illustrate the relationship between ourselves and God. For more information, call Elizabeth Dimick at 262-5095.

Churches coordinate Bible studies

Precept Bible studies on Exodus will be offered Sept. 5 and 6. Peggy McGarry will lead studies at the Kasilof Community Church that will meet either on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. or Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Classes consist of a one-hour discussion, then a one-hour video presentation.

Darlene Rozak will lead studies at the Soldotna Bible Chapel Thursdays at 1 p.m. in the library room. Unless someone volunteers for it, there is no child care available.

Extended Bible study offered

Jesus the One and Only, an 11-week Bible study by Beth Moore will begin Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. to noon at Kenai First Baptist Church. Baby-sitting is available. The same study will be offered Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the home of Carole Wherry. For more information, call 283-7772.

Bible workshop offered

The Kenai Christian Church is offering a fall focus workshop, titled How to Study the Bible, at noon Sept. 15. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $7 prior to Sept. 12 and $10 at the door.
