Stevens to speak at Soldotna chamber

Center to offer entrepreneurship class
The Kenai Peninsula Small Business Devel-opment Center will offer a workshop, "Business Planning Your Key to Entrepren-eurship," from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at its center in the Red Diamond Center, Suite 16. Redoubt open house planned
Redoubt Elementary School will host a back-to-school open house from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the school. Students and their families are invited to meet teachers and the new principal. Students also can tour classrooms and the school.
Bus schedules, school lunch and supply information will be available. School T-shirts will be on sale for children and adults.
Kennel club offering dog classes
The Kenai Kennel Club will offer fall classes at its new facility in the former Inlet Card and Craft store in the C Plaza in Kenai. Classes will include beginning agility, puppy kindergarten, basic, intermediate and advance obedience, rally obedience and conformation handling. Also, KKC will host an American Kennel Club agility trial Saturday, Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 at the Kenai Little League complex on Spruce Street in Kenai. The trial begins at 9 a.m. each day and runs until mid afternoon. Spectators are encouraged to come, but bring seating and be prepared for inclement weather.

Food bank to hold raffle fund-raiser
The Kenai Peninsula Food Bank is selling raffle tickets for a opportunity to win two round-trip tickets to Hawaii. The drawing will be held at its seventh annual Soup Supper and Auction on Sept. 5 at the Soldotna Sports Center. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased from any board member or by calling Cindy at 262-3111.
