Letter a slap in face to mushers

I found Jennifer O’Connor’s letter in the Monday, Aug. 21, Clarion in very bad taste. I find it reprehensible that this woman, who knows nothing about the lives of working dogs or what mushers do, could declare that “the race has lost its lone honest voice.”
It is unfortunate that she campaigns for her cause with a fraudulent expression of sorrow at Susan Butcher’s death. It is a slap in the face to all of the mushers who are honest and worthy dog owners. Painting the entire mushing community with a broad brush is an ignorant act. I hope she realizes how rude her letter was.
