ANCHORAGE (AP) -- The Coast Guard on Thursday suspended its search for a man who disappeared while fishing near the Southeast village of Pelican.

Alaska State Troopers said Richard Reamy, 65, of Georgia was staying at a cabin near White Sulfur Springs Tuesday when he set out in a boat to go fishing.

When he failed to return to the cabin, friends notified the Coast Guard. A fishing vessel located a capsized skiff and a cooler believed to be Reamy's later Tuesday night.

A helicopter was launched and searched for Reamy without success. Coast Guard officials said Reamy was not wearing survival gear and could have survived in the cold water for only a few hours.
