Fire conference starts today

Kalifonsky Christian Center will hold its Jubilee Fire Conference starting today and running through Sept. 3. Evening services start at 7. On Wednesday, Thursday and Sept. 1, meetings will be at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Speakers include Prophet Jeff Burke from Georgia, Apostle Steve Valentine and his wife, Kay, from Montana, Apostle Dick Benjamin, Dick Erwin and Judith Green of Abbott Loop Christian Center in Anchorage and Walter and Beverly Cowart of Washington. The culmination of the conference will take place in a special service Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. This will be an ordination service recognizing Pastor Steve Toliver as an apostle in the body of Christ. Teachers get special night Sunday

Soldotna First Assembly will conduct its annual School Teacher Appreciation Night on Sunday at 6 p.m. This year's service will feature teachers from throughout the Kenai Peninsula Borough, testifying and singing. The 2000 theme is "Heroes in the Classroom." A teachers-only reception will follow the service. The purpose of this meeting is to honor and pray for area teachers.

Women's ministry planned

The Kenai Christian Church's women's ministry will present a series of Bible studies beginning Sept. 7 with the theme "Growing in God." The studies include:

From 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays: "Breaking Free," a video by Beth Moore and led by Francine Jones. Also, "Financially Confident Woman" led by Kathy Medcoff.

From 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays: "Precept Upon Precept -- John," a video by Kay Arthur and led by Tammy Anthony; "Experiencing God" led by Vicki Myers; and "Vision of His Glory," a video by Anne Graham Lotz and led by Laura Anderson.

From 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays: Precept Upon Precept -- John," a video by Kay Arthur and led by Tammy Anthony. Also, "Breaking Free," a video by Beth Moore and led by Francine Jones.

From 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays: "Breaking Free," a video by Beth Moore and led by Valerie Morin.

Soldotna, Kasilof plan Bible classes

Beginning Sept. 7, Soldotna Bible Chapel will hold a Precept Bible Study class on Genesis I on Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m. It is a six-week class. For more information and to reserve a book, call Darlene Rozak at 262-7172.

Kasilof Community Church also will hold the class, but on Wednesdays, starting Sept. 6, from 1 to 3 p.m. and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30. For more information, call Peggy McGarry at 283-9235.

Adult Bible classes scheduled

A new series of adult Bible classes will begin Sept. 10 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and continue Sept. 12 at Grace Lutheran Church.

The course is free to anyone wanting to learn more about the word of God.
