Courtwatch seeks volunteers

Courtwatch, a volunteer judicial watchdog group, is seeking volunteers. Courtwatch volunteers evaluate judges and lawyers in order to ensure balance in the courts. For more information, call 278-0989.

WRCC searching for Radiothon volunteers

The Kenai Women's Resource and Crisis Center is seeking volunteers to serve as remote team members for its 18th annual Radiothon fund-raiser Sept. 9. Remote teams contact area businesses for cash and in-kind donations that support WRCC victim services.

Business planning seminar planned

The Kenai Peninsula Small Business Development Center will sponsor "Unlocking the Door to Business Planning -- a Planning Model," Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Red Diamond Center, Suite 16, on Kalifornsky Beach Road.

The featured speaker will be Connie Gatling of Mail Boxes Etc. Cost is $15.

Red Cross offers CPR class

The American Red Cross offers weekly classes on the peninsula in basic first aid and CPR. The next class will be held Saturday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building.

Cruise tickets still available

A limited number of tickets remain available for the United Way's Sept. 1 Fox Island dinner cruise. The cruise includes dinner, music, magic, auctions and activities for children.
