In response to two crashes on the Seward Highway over the past week, Alaska State Troopers have added additional patrols to the highway, according to trooper spokesperson Greg Wilkinson.
Two marked patrol and two unmarked vehicles will patrol a section of the highway from Mile 75 near Ingram Creek to Mile 45 near the summit during peak traffic hours of afternoons and evenings.
The troopers will focus on speed, unsafe driving, seat belt and driving under the influence violations. Drivers are encouraged to slow down and enjoy the scenic view the highway offers, Wilkin-son said.
