Cook Inlet Academy

Posted: Wednesday, August 25, 2004

For the third year in a row, Cook Inlet Academy has a record number of students enrolled. In order to accommodate this growth, CIA has added a new teaching position this year. Welcome to Ron Gherman, who brings a heart for God and many years of experience teaching in Ohio and Fairbanks. He will teach science for CIA and also will be the new athletic director.

Karrie Yarnes and Doug Brown are new members of the CIA board. They are replacing Mark Cialek and Dale White, who each served six years on the board. Thanks to all who serve CIA in this capacity.

The new eagle mural in the lobby looks great. Thanks to Melinda Hershberger for sharing her painting gifts with CIA.

Thanks to all the parents and volunteers who worked to make the building ready for this school year. Laurel Kytonen and Roy McNutt did much painting, tiling and other jobs on the grounds, most of it with help from parents and volunteers.

Come support the cross country team at the Skyview meet this Saturday.

Tuesday Pizza and Thursday McDonald's lunches will start next week.
