Thanks to support, Kasilof library’s success not overdue

Posted: Friday, August 25, 2006

Thanks to the folks in Kasilof our community’s best-kept secret is out at last.

The success of the Kasilof Public Library’s first open house and fundraiser was due to outstanding public service, volunteerism and the generous contributions of our patrons.

A very special thanks to the Alaska authors that donated their time and books to our cause: Mary J. and Mel Barry, Commodore Walter Jackinsky, Catherine Cassidy, Ron Walden and Brent Johnson.

Many heartfelt thanks to these library supporters: The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District, Tustumena Elementary School Principal Ken Halverson, custodian Wayne Cowan, secretary Pauline Mills, KSRM, Paul Fischer, the Clarion, Traci Davis, Joan Lahndt, Fritz, Jewell and Catherine Wolk, Louise Hann, Pat Hann, Alexander Hann, Jenni and Jade Larsen, Al Jones, the Bob and Penny Bauer family, Joe Browning, Bob and Carole Okamoto, Lisa Greenleaf, Uta Thomas, McKibben Jackinsky, Diane and Gary Long, Kathleen Evanson, Joann Jackinsky, Ben Jackinsky, postmistress Carol Joyce and crew at the Kasilof post office, Glenn and Trudy Tisdale, Stanley and Joyce Snow and those I may have inadvertently missed.

Thank you, and we hope to see you next year.
