Republican majority could help Senate Democrats

Posted: Wednesday, August 25, 2010

Look at Lisa Murkowski scurry toward the far right of her party as fast as she can. Wow! I'd hate to be an Alaskan Republican incumbent who hasn't done exactly as Sarah Palin has ordered over the past 2 years. That would really be terror right about now before the primary.

What Democrats have to remember is that it still takes 67 votes in the Senate to overturn a presidential veto, so the prospects that Republicans will repeal anything are still slim. I say it'll help Democrats if the Republicans have a small majority in the House, because they won't be able to do anything with it and then they will own the economy in 2012. Dems have learned from the best how to be the party of "no" and stop any movement forward for Repubs.
