Longtime Nikiski resident Cheryl Ann Martin died unexpectedly Saturday, August 21, 2010 at her home in Nikiski. She was 60.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Martin was born Dec. 24, 1949, in Minneapolis, Minn. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Wash., and then furthered her education by attending two years of college classes. She became a resident of Alaska in 1979. She retired from the State of Alaska Child Support Enforcement Division. She also was a member of the North Kenai Chapel in Nikiski.
"She loved her cats, reading and collecting stuffed animals. Her generous and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her," her family said.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Edward Martin; sister, Carolyn Christianson; nephew, William Chirstianson; sister in-law, Martha Hash; niece, Monique Newman; and extended family, Deena Mault, Martha Mault, Kevin Adams and Rod Rego.
