FAIRBANKS (AP) -- A Fairbanks man has pleaded no contest to attempted sexual assault in a December 2000 incident in Ruby.
The plea Thursday by Clinton C. Huntington, 27, was part of a deal with prosecutors, who originally had charged him with first-degree sexual assault in the Dec. 26 incident.
According to the criminal complaint, Huntington sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl in her Ruby home even though she both verbally refused and physically resisted his advances, according to the complaint.
The incident reportedly caused injury to the victim, and she was treated at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.
As part of the plea agreement, Huntington will be sentenced to a maximum of two years in prison. He can also receive additional suspended and probationary time.
