Nikiski resident Cassandra "Cassie" Ann Taylor died at her home Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002. She was 26.
A private ceremony will be held today.
Ms. Taylor was born Feb. 2, 1976, in Soldotna. She was a devoted, loving mother who always took pride in her children.
"Cassie is the angel in our family. She is many things to all of us: a daughter, a sister, a mother, a friend, a niece, a granddaughter and a person who has changed our lives by her enthusiasm and spontaneous way of living each day," her family said.
"Her children want everyone to know some things about their mom that are important to them: Forest said, 'My mom likes animals and the color purple and visiting with us.' True Dawn said, 'My mom likes to read me stories and take us to school and see our paperwork.'"
She is survived by her children, Forest Cobban-Taylor, 8, True Dawn Cobban, 7, and Torin Sanchez, 4; father of the children, Casey Cobban; her mother and father, Toni and Steve Knight; natural father, Randy Taylor of Clearlake, Calif.; sister, Michelle Ingram of Eagle River; and brothers, J.D. Symens of Las Vegas, Bobby Taylor and Jonathon Knight of Soldotna.
Memorial donations may be made to the Casey Cobban/Cassie Taylor children's fund, account No. 70159090, at First National Bank, 44501 Sterling Highway, Soldotna, AK 99669.
