Senior citizens traveling with an elder hostel group hike across the flood plain of the Resurrection River north of Seward to view Exit Glacier in the Kenai Fjords National Park earlier this week.
A short half-mile hike takes visitors from the parking lot to the glacier, while a much longer hike climbs a ridge parallel to the ice.
Pictured here, a family looks at crevasses in the glacier’s face.

The glacier is one of many that tumbles out of the 35-mile-long, 20-mile-wide Harding Ice Field.
