Safe sitter classes offered

Central Peninsula General Hospital will sponsor the next Safe Sitter classes Oct. 8 and 9 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The class is scheduled while students have no school due to the two-day in-service.

Senior fund-raiser planned

The Cooper Landing Senior Citizens Corp. Inc. is sponsoring a pancake breakfast Sept. 8 from 8 a.m. to noon at the community hall on Bean Creek Road. The cost is $6 for all-you-can-eat sourdough or potato pancakes with sausage, juice and coffee. Diners get a free blood pressure readings with their pancakes. First aid, CPR classes to be offered

The American Red Cross is taking registrations for community first aid and CPR classes. The cost is $58 and the next available class is Saturday. Call Debbie to preregister and for time and location details at 262-4541.

Independent Living Center to host open house

The Independent Living Center is having an open house Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to welcome Job Ready to the Kenai Peninsula. The center has teamed up with Job Ready to provide in-home care services to seniors and individuals that experience a variety of disabilities.

Tickets available for Boys and Girls Clubs' auction

The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula's 14th annual auction gala sponsored by Tesoro Alaska will be held Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. at the Old Kenai Supply Building in Kenai. The evening includes dinner, silent and live auctions, prizes and artwork. The cost is $30 per person or $400 for a reserved table for eight. Donated items for the auctions are being accepted at the Boys and Girls Clubs' Kenai administrative office at 11247 Frontage Road in Kenai. Call Kim Lee for more information at 283-2682.
