Lifelong Tyonek resident Roger Lee Chuitt died Friday, Aug. 25, 2006, in Tyonek. He was 41.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29 at the Patrick Chuitt Sr. residence in Tyonek. Father Peter Chris will officiate. Pallbearers will include Cornell Constantine, Lecon Chuitt, Arthur, Ernie, Randy and Frank Standifer Sr. Burial will follow the service at the Tyonek Cemetery.
Mr. Chuitt was born Nov. 10, 1964, in Tyonek. He worked for CIHA as a construction laborer. He was a member of the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church.
“Roger has an infectious smile and so much love for his nieces and nephews. His laughter filled the room. He was always there with a helping hand when someone needed him. He will be truly missed by all of his loved ones. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and berry picking,” his family said.
Mr. Chuitt was preceded in death by brother, David Allowan; sister, Shirley Chuitt; and grandparents, Robert and Alexandra Allowan and Paul and Allie Chuitt.
He is survived by his father, Patrick Chuitt Sr. of Tyonek; mother, Sophie Chuitt of Anchorage; brothers and sisters-in-law, Basil and Mary Allowan of Anchorage and Lecon Chuitt and Angela Sandstol of Tyonek; brothers, Patrick Chuitt Jr. and Dennis Chuitt, both of Tyonek, and James Chuitt of Anchorage; sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Frank Bell of Anchorage; and sisters, Jessie Chuitt of Anchorage and Rose Chuitt of Kenai.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family at 5809 Miley Dr., Anchorage, AK 99504.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
