Agencies to offer loan help to commercial fishers

Staff from the Alaska Division of Investments, the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Alaska Business Development Center will be on the Kenai Peninsula doing outreach work with local commercial fishers Sept. 10-13.

Representatives will assist borrowers who need help with loan extension applications or with workouts on existing loans. They can also provide information on loan programs available through ADI and SBA.

They will be in Kenai Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at city hall, in Homer Sept. 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at city hall and at Nikolaevsk Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school library. Appointments are not necessary to receive assistance.

Please bring copies of your 2000 income tax return and a copy of your 2001 fish statements. If you are unable to attend one of these sessions please call ADI at 800-478-LOAN or 907-269-8150 or the SBA at 800-755-7034 or 907-271-4022.
