KPRL to hold final circle, motocross races
The Kenai Peninsula Racing Lions' will hold its final late model, B-stock and A-stock car races of the season at 7 p.m. today at Twin Cities Raceway. For more information, call Chet at 283-9078.

Eagles plan dinner fund-raiser

A.B.A.T.E. to hold motorcycle run
The Kenai Peninsula A.B.A.T.E. will hold a Labor Day run at noon Saturday at The Place in Nikiski. Food, refreshments, motorcycle games, pool tourney and live music are some of the planned activities.

Cowboy fun shoot scheduled
The final cowboy action fun shoot of the season will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the pistol range at the Snow Shoe Gun Club. Range set-up begins at 9 a.m. and registration at 9:45 a.m.
Firearm requirements are: Civil War- to 1897-period firearms, originals or modern replicas; two six-guns; a tubular-magazine fed, exposed hammer rifle in pistol calibers; or a period shot gun without automatic ejectors.
An introduction forum of the club will follow and an opportunity to shoot a period firearm will be available to those who do not own one.
Eye and ear protection are required for all contestants and observers.
Learn how to recognize a fungi
The Kenai Watershed Forum will host a mushroom workshop with Dominique Collet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Sterling Senior Center. Participants will carpool to different areas to collect mushrooms and then identify the specimens. Participants are encourage to bring mushrooms from their yards to identify. Welcome back barbecue set for KPC
Kenai Peninsula College will hold its annual community "welcome back" barbecue from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the the college behind the Goodrich and McLane buildings on the bank of the Kenai River.

Open house planned for dental clinic
Central Peninsula Health Centers Inc. will hold an open house celebration of its Aspen Dental Clinic from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at 395 Main Street Loop in Kenai. A ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m.
The center is dedicated to providing quality dental health care, regardless of the ability to pay. The public is invited to attend.
Girl scouts plan garage sale fund-rasier
Kenai Girl Scout Troop 173 will hold a five family garage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 5 and 6 at 601 Davidson Street in Kenai.
Progressive dinner planned
An "otterly" decadent marine migration progressive dinner will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Sept. 6 in Homer. Participants will travel to Peterson Bay Lodge and Oyster Camp, the Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies field station in Peterson Bay, the Kachemak Bay Wilderness Lodge and the Halibut Cove Wilderness Lodge.
