KPC seeks council reps
Kenai Peninsula College is seeking representatives to serve on the College Council. The council serves in a public advisory role for the college. EMS benefit dinner set
American Legion Ninilchik Post No. 18 will host its fifth annual EMS benefit dinner at 6 p.m. Sept. 10 at Ninilchik Fairgrounds. For more information, call William Fisher at (907) 567-3918.
Diner, auction fund-raiser set
The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula will have its 18th annual auction fund-raiser at 5 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Soldotna Sports Center. The theme is "Seven Clubs One Vision" and celebrates the peninsula clubs in Homer, Kenai, the Kenai Teen Center, Nikiski, Seldovia, Seward and Soldotna.
The cost is $35 per person or $400 to reserve a table of seven and program recognition. Tickets are available at the Kenai Boys and Girls Club and from any club member.

Fall dinner, raffle fund-raiser slated
The Soldotna Senior Citizens Center will host its annual fall roundup fund-raiser at 5 p.m. Sept. 10 at the center.
Smoked prime rib dinner and a raffle for a hand-carved goose are planned. Entertainment will be provided by the Spur Highway Spankers and the Northstar cloggers and line dancers. Door prizes will be available. Admission prices are $16 for adults and $8 for children ages 12 and younger. For more information and reservations, call 262-2322.
LeeShore radiothon slated
The 21st annual KRSM-LeeShore Radiothon fund-raiser will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 12 on KSRM Radio 92 AM. Cash and in-kind donations pledged during the radiothon support the agency's services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and its community and school prevention programs.

Dog training seminar set
Peninsula Dog Obedience Group will host Kay Laurence, a clicker trainer from England, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 16 and 17 at its facility on Kalifornsky Beach Road. Clicker training is a reward-based training method for animals. Laurence's presentation will cover education, experience, training methods and focus on the whole dog, not just training.
The cost is $75 per day or $140 for both days. It is open to the public. Owners may bring their dogs if they are well-behaved. For more information, call 262-6846 or e-mail info@pendog.org.
