I think it is despicable that a bear has to be killed for being a bear and some stupid person is fined only $300. Is this what the life of a bear is worth?
People are allowed to come in and destroy the bear's habitat for their own homes and then have bears killed for coming too close. It is entirely humans' fault for these encounters, and the bears suffer.
Perhaps people should not be allowed to build near bear habitat. Or, maybe, it's the people who should have to be relocated when such encounters occur. Or, hey, why don't we just shoot any person who contributes to these encounters?
Of course, we can't do that. Humans have so much more right to life than the bears, right?
