Ninilchik resident Robert L. Beven died unexpectedly, Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010 at his home in Ninilchik. He was 46.
A potluck and short service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31 for his many friends and family. Mike Vanderford will officiate. Additional services will take place in Washington state.
Mr. Beven was born Aug. 31, 1963 in Washington. He graduated from high school and worked in construction in both Washington and Alaska. He moved to Alaska in 2004.
He enjoyed golf, fishing, smoking fish and sports.
"Robert was a very loving, honest, caring man. He loved life, fishing and good friends. We will miss his sense of humor and laugh. He also believed that when you work, you work and when you drink, you drink. He did both to the best of his ability. He was also very proud of his Irish heritage and will be missed greatly by his good friends Bud and Jose," his family said.
Mr. Beven was preceded in death by his mother, Randa Beven and brother Ronald Lee Beven.
He is survived by his father, Richard Beven Sr. and brother, Richard Beven Jr., both of Renton, Wash.; sister, Colleen Barkley of Hopkins, South Carolina; and girlfriend, Sheri Liebenthal of Ninilchik.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
