Former Sterling resident Donald "Jack" Giaccarini died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, in Elk Grove, Calif. He was 81.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Giaccarini was born March 15, 1924, in San Francisco to Niblong and Josephine Giaccarini.
He married Bunnie on Nov. 21, 1978, in Nevada. He worked for the Ford Motor Co., Jherimack, Thousand Trails and as a custodian at Soldotna Elementary School.
He was a member of the Royal Member of Redding Moose Lodge in California and served in the U.S. Navy for 13 years.
Mr. Giaccarini was preceded in death by his parents, Niblong and Josephine Giaccarini; and son, Steven.
He is survived by his wife, Bunnie of Galt, Calif.; son, Donald Giaccarini of Mississippi; daughters and spouses, Diane and Terry Vigneaux of Missouri, Robbyn and Dan Michel of Sterling, Jan and Robert Wammack of Galt, Stacy and Michael Cunningham of Nikiski and Julie and Ron Coster of Galt; grandchildren, Jason Graves, Shayla Wammack, Candice and Eric McCormic, Ashley, Charley and Haley Michel, Ryan, Tera and Marlee Cunningham and Kristina Wanstree; and great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Haley and Jacob Graves.
Arrangements were made by Bensalas Funeral Home of Galt.
