Clothing ministry open Saturday

First Baptist Church of Soldotna presents the Nu 2 U Clothing Ministry. It provides free clothing to those in need.

It will be open Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. at 119 Little Ave. in Soldotna. Women's, men's and children's clothing is available.

Radio broadcaster to speak at Kenai church

Star of the Lutheran Church will host Dr. Oswald Hoffman, longtime speaker of the internationally broadcast "Lutheran Hour" radio program, Sunday at its 11 a.m. service.

Refreshments will be served following the service.

Churches coordinate Bible studies

Precept Bible studies on Exodus will be offered Wednesday and Thursday. Peggy McGarry will lead studies at the Kasilof Community Church that will meet either on Wednesday at 1 p.m. or Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Classes consist of a one-hour discussion, then a one-hour video presentation.

Darlene Rozak will lead studies at the Soldotna Bible Chapel Thursdays at 1 p.m. in the library room. Unless someone volunteers for it, there is no child care available.

Extended Bible study offered

"Jesus the One and Only," an 11-week Bible study by Beth Moore will begin Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon at Kenai First Baptist Church. Baby-sitting is available.

The same study will be offered Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the home of Carole Wherry.

Teacher affirmation service planned

Soldotna First Assembly will host its annual teacher affirmation service Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. The featured speaker is Larry Whitmore of Bartlett High School.

There also will be two special musical presentations from teachers and one from a student. Each teacher attending the service will receive a special gift of "The Prayer of Jabez" or "Secrets of the Vine," by Bruce Wilkinson. Afterward, there will be a cake reception for all school teachers.

Crusade scheduled at Kalifonsky center

The Glory and Healing Crusade with Todd Bentley will be held Thursday through Sept. 11 at Kalifonsky Christian Center on Kalifornsky Beach Road. Those who need healing are encouraged to attend.

Evening services are at 7, and Sunday services are at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. For more information, call 283-9452.

Bible workshop offered

The Kenai Christian Church is offering a fall focus workshop, titled "How to Study the Bible," at noon Sept. 15. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $7 prior to Sept. 12 and $10 at the door.

Preregistration is recommended. Lunch will be served at noon. Child care is provided.
