MONTREAL (AP) Canadian captain Mario Lemieux feels a lot better heading into the World Cup of Hockey than he did leading the gold-medal winning 2002 Olympic team.
''I think I'm a little faster now,'' the 38-year-old Pittsburgh Penguins star said Monday. ''This time I have two legs. In Salt Lake City, I only had one.
''Two weeks after the Olympics I had an operation. I had trouble skating. But now, I've been working out for three or four months and I feel a lot better."
Canada opens the tournament today against the U.S.
