Hospital plans board meeting

The Central Peninsula General Hospital Inc. Board of Directors will meet at 4:30 p.m. today in the Iliamna Conference Room at CPGH. It is open to the public.

Soldotna library hosts open house

Joyce K. Carver Memorial Library in Soldotna is hosting an open house from noon to 5 p.m. Friday in honor of employee Kitty Galley, who has worked at the library for 16 years and is relocating.

The public is invited and refreshments will be served.

Aging to be discussed

The Sterling Senior Center will host licensed psychologist Bruce McNeath at 7 p.m. Friday at the center. His topic will be acting your age.

The presentation will cover beliefs on aging and the impact those beliefs have on your life.

Historical board to meet

The Soldotna Historical Society Board of Directors will hold its monthly meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the main museum building on Centennial Park Road. It is open to the public.

Teen-sized clothing sought

The Kenai Middle School is seeking donations of clothes for teens for its school store Kossack Korner. For more information, call Jean Dixon at 283-4896.

Challenger Center hosts open house

The Challenger Learning Center of Alaska in Kenai will hold an open house from 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 9 in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Challenger disaster.

NASA astronaut Ken Reightler will be the special guest. Children can build and launch their own rockets. Tours also will be available.

CPGH to host recovery rendezvous

The Central Peninsula General Hospital will host a free recovery rendezvous in recognition of National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Soldotna Sports Center. Foods, entertainment and a poster contest are some of the planned events.
