An Alaska Wildlife Trooper found Ray Tranpiar of Michigan on Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. after he was separated from his party on the Swanson River.
Megan Peters, public information officer for the Alaska State Troopers, said two boaters had made it to their end point when they noticed Tranpiar was missing. A U.S. Fish and Wildlife officer searched for the missing boater by canoe, while the trooper took to the air.
"The trooper spotted the individual, landed and was able to hike over to the individual and determine that he was uninjured," Peters said.
"(Tranpiar) just hadn't planned on being out there that long."
Peters said the boaters started their float trip on Monday at 6 a.m.
