Motocross results posted

The Kenai Peninsula Racing Lions - Motocross Division held its sixth city race of the season on Saturday. The results follow:

125 Intermediate: 1. Frank Navarro (Hon).

125 Novice: 1. Randy Dobbs (Yam); 2. Pat Poland (Hon); 3. Mike Kelly (Yam); 4. Tyler Glidewell (Yam).

Youth Adult bowling seeks members

The Sunday Youth Adult Bowling League will start on Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. at Alaskalanes. Teams consist of one adult and one youth member. Members do not need to be related to bowl together. For more information, call Charlie Yamada at 283-4935 or 398-4170, or e-mail

Senior bowling leagues forming

Golden Oldies will be Tuesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m. this year at Alaskalanes. The league begins with a Sept. 7 meeting at 12:30 p.m. For more information, call Betty at 283-7936.

The 55 Plus league will bowl Wednesdays at 1 p.m., beginning Sept. 8. For more information, call Phyllis at 260-9707.

Mariner triathlon set for Saturday

The 10th annual Homer Mariner Iron Man Triathlon will be Saturday. The race is dedicated to Val Kirsis, a triathlete. There are team or individual entries.

The race starts at 8 a.m. and includes a 1,000-yard swim, 15-mile bike and five-mile run.

Individual entry is $50 and includes a T-shirt, while team entry is $100 and includes three T-shirts. This is a fundraiser for the Homer High School swimming and diving team.
