Seward 24, Sitka 18

The Seward High School football team defeated Sitka at Seward Saturday for a Great Land Conference victory.

Seward and Sitka each struck for three touchdowns, but the Seahawks added two-point conversion after each of their scores while preventing Sitka from converting any of its PATs.

Seward quarterback Jonah Swiderski connected with Brian Svabik for the Seahawks first touchdown in the second quarter. Jake Wilder scored on the conversion.

Sitka answered with a pair of touchdowns before the half.

Seward regained the lead on a 4-yard run by Swiderski in the third quarter. Swiderski then hit Bart Elhard for the first of his two, two-point conversions.

Cody Gilmore returned an interception for a touchdown early in the third quarter, and the Seahawks were able to hold on for the win.
