Skyview Cross Country Boosters say 'thanks'

Posted: Wednesday, September 01, 2004

Last weekend was the 15th annual Skyview Invitational Cross Country Running Meet. Wow, we had more than 750 athletes running from schools across the state. That's a lot of kids! This is one of the largest races of the season, and it could not happen without a lot of help.

Thank you to Tsalteshi Trails and Bill Holt for allowing us to use their world class trails. Bill has worked for years to ensure the trails are in great shape and well marked during all events.

A huge thanks to Pat Johnson, Erin and Harry Lockwood, Mark and Libby Berezin, Kent Peterson, Bob Jones, Mark Larson, Robin Nyce, John Andrews and Betty Miller. These community members have been involved with cross country running races for many years. Their expertise and willingness to step forward to help is inspiring.

Parents of Skyview runners helped with everything from running concessions, keeping the finish chute in order, starting the races and computing the results. Thank you for all your hard work.

The Skyview faculty gets a round of applause for everything from helping during the races to making their classrooms cozy as hotel rooms for the traveling teams. Thanks!

Thank you also to Safeway for generously donating items for our concessions stand.

These kinds of races don't come together without lots of time, effort and teamwork from community, faculty and parents. Thank you all!

See you at state!
