La Leche to meet

The La Leche League will meet at 11 a.m. Friday at 48380 Daisy Ave. in Soldotna. Breast-feeding concerns and information will be discussed. For more information, call 262-2495.

Basketball league begins

The Boys and Girls Club is taking registration for its high school basketball league through Friday. The season will run Sept. 20 through Nov. 10. The fee is $10. Swim lessons offered

The Soldotna High School swimming pool is taking registration for fall swimming classes. Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Tuesday. The cost is $40 for 10 lessons. Preregistration is recommended. For more information, call Cindy Aldridge at 262-7419.

Shelter network meeting slated

Kenai Interfaith Shelter Services will host a community meeting at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 9 at Soldotna City Hall. The topic will be how congregations in the central Kenai Peninsula can get involved in a network of organizations to provide overnight accommodations, meals and compassionate assistance to homeless families. Disaster response group seeking volunteers
