Soldotna after-school program begins

After the Bell in Soldotna will be open for after-school tutoring and activities at Skyview, Soldotna High, Soldotna Middle and Redoubt and Soldotna elementary schools. Each site has different start-up dates and different program times. Elementary and middle school students must preregister before attending the after-school program.

The Soldotna Elementary School program begins Tuesday for first- through sixth-graders. The program runs from 3:25 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. 4-H projects will be offered in rockets, cooking, juggling-clowning, ceramics and tone chimes. Parents can call 262-9796 to arrange their child's registration. The cost is $25 per month per child.

The Redoubt Elementary program begins Sept. 13 for fourth- through sixth-graders. The program runs from 3:20 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. In-person registration is from 3:45 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Redoubt Elementary. Parents also can call 398-4048 after Thursday to arrange their child's registration. The cost is $15 per month per student.

The Soldotna Middle School program begins Sept. 13 for seventh- and eighth-graders. The program runs from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Families may register by calling Rosy at 398-3083. The cost is $15 per month per student. Scholarships are available, and there is a $50 family maximum per month.
