Help support the annual fund-raiser at Soldotna Elementary School. Money raised will pay for a part-time library aide and a playground aide. Innisbrook packets will be sent home today and are due back Sept. 15. Products offered by Innisbrook include designer gift wraps, gourmet foods and note cards.

The music teacher, Ms. Southwick, is looking for sixth-graders who would like to be part of the sixth-grade choir. There will be two performances by the choir this year, and sixth-graders will receive sheets to bring home to parents regarding the choir.

Picture day is Sept. 9.

Fourth-grade teacher Nancy Courtright took her class to Russian River and the Dena'ina Center this past Friday as part of her focus on experiential learning. Students hiked the Russian River trail and learned about the geography of the Kenai Peninsula, the life cycle of salmon and the Dena'ina culture, which are all part of the fourth-grade science and social studies curriculum focus.
