Woman agrees to plea deal on cocaine charges

Posted: Sunday, September 02, 2001

FAIRBANKS (AP) -- A Fairbanks woman faces a four-year prison term after she entered a plea to drug charges.

Renee Garcia, 35, sold cocaine to an undercover officer six times last fall, authorities said. She was indicted on six counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance.

On Wednesday, she pleaded no-contest to one of those charges. The rest were dismissed.

Another Fairbanks woman, Pearletha Harris, also faces a drug charge in the case. Police said Harris, 41, helped Garcia deliver the cocaine in one instance. She is scheduled for trial in November.
