ANCHORAGE (AP) A Minto man drowned after he lost control of his boat and fell into a slough of the Tolovana River, Alaska State Troopers said Sunday.

James Titus, 33, died Saturday.

Witnesses saw Titus driving his boat erratically before he lost control of the craft and went into the water about noon, troopers said.

Witnesses couldn't find Titus and returned to Minto to report the accident.

Rescuers found Minto's body shortly before 3 p.m. the same day, according to troopers.
