Area chambers set schedule

Chambers of commerce speakers for the upcoming week include:

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon Tuesday at the Riverside House. The Arctic Winter Games will be the topic. For more information, call Shanon Hamrick at 262-9814.

Kenai Peninsula Borough School District candidates forum for Seat 1, incumbent Sammy Crawford and Gene Dyson, will be held at the Kenai Chamber of Commerce meeting at noon Wednesday at Paradisos. Lunch is $11. For more information, call 283-7989.

The Nikiski Chamber of Commerce will meet Thursday at Community Lighthouse Church (previously North Kenai Baptist Church). Candidates for Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly District 3, James Price and incumbent Gary Superman, will speak. For more information, call Judene Van Cleave at 776-5551.

KeyBank staffs new branch

KeyBank has announced staff for its new branch in Soldotna: Heather Willets has been appointed team leader; Kristy Hughes, client relations leader; Lisa Roberts, relationship manager; Kristine Holdridge, small business relationship manager; Crystal Olendar, Julie Land and Josy Bevington, client relations representatives.

The Soldotna branch is scheduled to open Sept. 20. A grand opening for the 4,800 square foot facility will be held Sept. 27 to Oct. 2. The new branch is at 44260 Sterling Highway, at the corner of the Sterling Highway and Birch Avenue.

With the new location, KeyBank will have 18 branches and 22 ATM sites in Alaska.

Raft trip offered to support land trust

Alaska Wildland Adventures is offering a rafting trip down the Kenai River on Monday, Labor Day, to support Kachemak Heritage Land Trust. The trip from Kenai Lake to Skilak Lake passes through the Kenai River Canyon. Cost of the trip is $100 per person and includes lunch. Preregister by calling 235-5263.
